IO, Jakarta – Badan Pemenangan Nasional (The Committee to Elect Prabowo-Sandi) Prabowo-Sandi – “BPN Prabowo-Sandi”) decided to take constitutional steps on the final results of the national vote recapitulation of the 2019 Presidential Election to the Constitutional Court (MK). Before, the presidential candidate No.02 team refused to bring this matter to the Constitutional Court
“What is clear is that Prabowo and Sandiaga decided to take the constitutional path. At the beginning we did get a lot of input related to legal conditions, which lately is hard to believe. That was what caused us to refuse to go to the Constitutional Court,” said the National Winning Agency) Prabowo-Sandi, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak at Kertanegara’s house, Tuesday (05/21/2019).
Dahnil also said that the filing of the lawsuit to the Constitutional Court was based on inputs obtained from various regional regions such as Central Java, East Java, Bali, Papua, NTT, North Sumatra.
These regions have prepared a lot of evidence of violations of electoral fraud that are structured, systematic and massive. These regions advised the BPN to take constitutional steps.
“In short, Prabowo heard about the aspirations of these regions, although frankly we experienced a crisis of mistrust for legal institutions. But because of the pressure from many regions, we decided to take legal action,” he said
Meanwhile, Prabowo-Sandiaga BPN’s Advocacy and Legal Director, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that in the next few days he would prepare the lawsuit material.
“In the next few days we will prepare the material needed to file a lawsuit at the Constitutional Court,” he said.
Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who also serves as Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, explained the reason his party filed a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court. One of them, Dasco said, was related to a very significant vote count.
“We see that there are considerations, then there are very crucial things, especially regarding very significant calculations that can be brought to the Constitutional Court,” Dasco said.
It is known that currently, KPU has completed the results for national recapitulation of the 2019 General Election. And as the result, the candidate pair No. 01, Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin won the 2019 Presidential Election. Jokowi-Ma’ruf won with 55.50% while Prabowo-Sandi is 44.50%. (dsy)
