“In Australia’s combat marksmanship competition between armies from the US, UK, New Zealand, Asian countries including Vietnam, Korea, Japan and China, Indonesia managed to win the overall title 13 times in 13 years, using PT Pindad-made weapons,” Prabowo stated proudly.
The chairman of Gerindra Party said Indonesia must believe in its own abilities. As long as there is a strong will, Prabowo said, self-sufficiency in military equipment production is within grasp.

“We are actually capable but the problem is we are always amazed by everything foreign. Even though our products are okay, maybe not as cool as it looks, maybe a little heavier but in fact we are the overall champion, so we can do it if we want to,” said Prabowo.
“I think in 3-5 years we will see a significant improvement in the abilities of the nation’s children to produce primary equipment,” Prabowo concluded.
