“This means that residents are welcome to carry out socio-economic activities. I’m not saying this is already endemic, but residents should feel safe and assured as long as they continue wearing mask and get boosted,” he explained.

According to Pandu, the PPKM rules should be revoked, including the requirement for PCR and antigen tests so that people can feel more relieved when doing socio-economic activities.

“So, in June or July, we will make sure that on August 17, we can declare that Indonesia is free from this pandemic,” said Pandu.

The results of the survey conducted by his office showed that there was 6.2% increase in the proportion of the population with Sars CoV-2 antibodies from December 2021 to March 2022. (at)
