Separately, General Chairman of the Indonesian Pediatricians Association (Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia – “IDAI”) Central Management, dr. Piprim Basarah Yanuarso, Sp.A(K), emphasizes the importance of immunization in protecting children from dangerous, highly communicable diseases other than polio, such as pox, diphtheria, and tetanus.

“Low basic immunization coverage may cause higher incidence of these diseases, which may cause children to suffer from disabilities or even die. Let us protect our children from these diseases, because they are the future of our nation,” dr. Piprim declares. “We hope that parents will recommence ensuring the completion of full immunization in their children according to the IDAI standard, which is clearly printed in the Health Card (Kartu Menuju Sehat – “KMS”). You can still catch up to immunization even if you miss the scheduled session before. Please follow the Government and IDAI policies on child immunization and get them immunized ASAP. Don’t forget that immunization is free.”
