Banjar Police chief AKBP Doni Hadi Santoso, said the minimart collapsed after its wall began to crack for 10 minutes.
“From witness testimony, at around 5.05 pm there was the loud sound of a building cracking for ten seconds, then the building suddenly collapsed,” said Doni.
Doni said the witnesses saw a number of Alfamart customers and employees at the time of the incident.
Responding to the incident, Alfamart corporate affairs director Alfamart Solihin said the company would bear the cost of treatment and provide compensation for all victims. He also deeply regretted the incident and expressed his condolences. (rr)
