According to police source, detectives were preparing to raid Syed’s home in southeast Albuquerque on Monday when he drove from his residence in a car that investigators had identified and released to the public the day before.
In addition to recovering several firearms from the suspect’s home, detectives uncovered evidence suggesting the perpetrator knew the victims to some extent, and personal conflicts may have led to the shooting.

Albuquerque and state authorities have deployed additional police personnel at mosques during prayer times as investigations are underway in the city.
Although the police have not revealed the motive for the murder, the victims of this murder are all of Pakistani and Afghani descent. The serial murders have made Islamic communities fearful. Some Pakistani students at the University of New Mexico have even fled the city. (un)
