Persib’s hope of victory now wide open, after beating Madura United 3-0

Bandung, IO – Persib Bandung FC’s hope to win to win the 2023/24 League 1 season is now wide open after beating Madura United with a score of 3-0 in the first leg of the Championship Series at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Bandung regency, Sunday (26/5).

Playing in front of tens of thousands of supporters, Persib Bandung tried hard to put pressure on Madura United from the start. However, the visiting team did not just choose to play defensively, in fact Madura managed to dominate the match. Even though the game was intense, the scoreboard showed the position 0-0 when both teams headed for the break.

Persib were only able to break the deadlock in the 70th minute through a flick from Ciro Alves who collaborated with Rachmat Irianto on the right side of United Madura’s defense. After the opening goal, the team nicknamed “Maung Bandung” became increasingly aggressive with their attacks. When the match entered injury time, Persib Bandung managed to widen their lead through their striker David Da Silva in the 90+4 and 90+12 minutes which made the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium roared jubilantly.

This victory has made Persib more confident in winning the trophy and playing the second Final Leg match which will take place at the Gelora Bangkalan Madura Stadium on May 31.
