Pengabdi Setan was enormously popular, so the sequel, Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion, also enjoyed a splash of fame by attracting one million viewers in just two days of its premiere run on August 4, 2022. By the fourth day, sales had doubled to 2 million viewers and are now hitting over 3 million on their 6th day.
Director Joko Anwar, on his social media account, mentioned the success of his latest film. Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion, reaching more than 3 million viewers in theaters in 5 and a half days, on Tuesday (8/9/2022) at 2 p.m. “Friends, I thank you abundantly. Thank you for the support. We will continue to make films,” he wrote on Tuesday (8/9/2022).

Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion will still potentially reach even a wider spectrum of moviegoers in coming days. It might even beat its prequel. According to Cinepoint data, Pengabdi Setan hit 4.2 million viewers in 2017.
