PBSI makes history by holding President’s Cup 2022

As of the closing of registration on July 19, more than 600 athletes from 30 provinces in Indonesia have registered. East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, North Maluku and West Papua did not send their player to Jakarta to compete in the championship with total prize of more than Rp1 billion.

There will be 11 events divided into three main categories, namely U-13 children’s group, U-15 beginner group, and U-17 youth group. The U-13 category will have men’s and women’s singles, U-15 men’s and women’s singles and men’s and women’s doubles while U-17 men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles.

At the end of the championship, the provincial administrator with the most gold medals will carry the President’s Cup rolling trophy.

“This championship is held for young people to seek the best talents from the regions. We will monitor players with the best potential and enter them into PBSI database so they can be admitted into Pelatnas [the national badminton training camp],” explained Agung. (un)
