Online Shopping will be imposed Rp10,000 stamp duty

Jakarta, IO – Tax office spokesperson Neilmaldrin Noor said the Taxation Directorate General (DJP) will impose Rp10,000 stamp duty for digital customers, including online shopping in e-commerce platform for transactions above Rp5,000,000, according to Article 3(2g) of Law 10/2020 on Stamp Duty, CNN Indonesia reported on Tuesday (14/6).

According to him, all considerations have been made by DJP before the decision, including the potential and risks of the policy. DJP will continue to hold discussions with the Indonesian E-commerce Association (idEA) on the the terms and conditions of the implementation.

“We will continue to discuss to determine the mechanism for the terms and conditions for agreement document subjects to stamp duty,” said Noor. (rr)
