Jakarta, IO – Gerindra Party secretary general Ahmad Muzani and the party’s Jakarta secretariat chairman Ahmad Riza Patria visited a number of ulemas (Islamic cleric) in Jakarta. The series of meetings were carried out to strengthen silaturahmi (communal bond) during the holy month of Ramadan.

The ulemas and habibs they visited included Habib Ali bin Abdurrahman Alhabsy (Habib Kwitang), KH Maulana Kamal Yusuf, the caretaker of the Paseban Islamic Boarding School, KH Lutfi Zawawi, KH Robby Fadil, chairman of the Central Jakarta branch of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH Fakhruddin Syafi’i Hadzamie, and KH Muhammar Syarif Matnajih.

Muzani said, “listening the word of ulema” is one of the messages that Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto always conveys to party cadres. “The voice of religious leaders is a reflection of the hearts of the people,” Muzani quoted Prabowo as saying.
