In an official statement on Monday (24/10), Heath Ministry spokesperson M. Syahril revealed that the first case of XBB detected in a 29-year-old woman who had just returned from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, was of local transmission.

“There are symptoms such as cough, runny nose, and fever. She was tested on September 26. After going through isolation, the patient has been declared recovered on October 3,” said Syahril.

Following the finding, the Health Ministry immediately conducted further testing on 10 close contacts. All of them showed negative results.
