Jakarta, IO – Jakarta Deputy Governor of Ahmad Riza Patria welcomed the latest Regulation 564/2022 issued by the Transportation Ministry on fare calculation guidelines for app-based motorcycle taxis service.

The regulation called for fare adjustment for online two-wheeled ride-hailing service popularly known as “ojek online”.

Riza said the fare increase would boost the number of passengers who are switching from private vehicles to public transportation, especially in Jakarta. He said public transportation fares in the capital are still cheaper than other countries.

“God willing, up to this day public transportation services, such as TransJakarta, are still very affordable,” said Riza, as reported by Antara, Wednesday (10/8). Currently, a trip using the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system called TransJakarta costs Rp3,500 per passenger.
