IO, Jakarta – The lifestyle of urban communities in big cities like Jakarta tends to be dynamic, busy, and moving fast. Daily activities ranging from work demands to busy homes often lead to physical, mental, and emotional fatigue. As a result, visiting a wellness center for massage and relaxation has become a routine agenda.

Unfortunately, since the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the Government implemented Large- Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB); the transitional PSBB in Jakarta endured into a New Normal Era, intended to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus. The restrictions also encourage people to reduce activities outside the home, including going to the wellness center, even though relaxation and massage for people is a need that supports physical health and soul.

Realizing this, Ogawa introduced its newest product, Omknee 2, the latest generation massage tool, with features and designs that will provide maximum relaxation to the hands and feet. Omknee 2 is the first massage tool in the world that has two parts, namely a Foot Massage Unit and a Versatile Massage Unit (multifunctional massage section) that can be used simultaneously.

The launch of Omknee 2 in Indonesia was carried out virtually via Instagram Live and was guided by MC Becky Tumewu at the Ogawa Experience Center, Plaza Indonesia Jakarta, Thursday, July 23, 2020.

PT Duta Abadi Primantara’s Head of Business Development Timothy Purnomo explained that the ergonomic and modern design of Omknee 2 allows relaxation to be carried out at home, without having to take up much space. Another advantage of Omknee 2 is that it has two different massage areas and is designed for sharing, so it can be used with family or loved ones.

“The feet are the support of our body. Footwork every day is quite heavy, especially on the soles of the feet with many acupuncture points that relate to every organ function of the body, as well as the hands. People doing massage and relaxation certainly want to feel calm and comfortable. It would be more fun, especially if it can be done casually with family or a partner,” said Timothy.

The focus of the Omknee 2 massage is on the soles of the feet, shins, calves, knees and arms. Besides, the technology of silicone massage roller and airbags on Omknee 2 is programmed according to the momentum of the hand movements and human power to be able to provide massage as naturally as possible. Omknee 2 is also equipped with heat therapy so that the body part that is massaged will become more relaxed, the blood flow becomes smoother, which helps reduce varicose veins and cellulite.

Timothy considered Indonesia a potential market because of the massage tradition that has been historically passed down. Besides, the market in Indonesia is quite large, based on the 2015 data from Indonesia Statistics, there are approximately 1,236 spa businesses spread throughout Indonesia. 89.97% of them offering massage or reflexology services. For this reason, he hopes that the latest products from Ogawa can be well received by the public.

“We want more and more Indonesian people to be healthy as today they have more time for relaxation. Relaxation is one way to increase antibodies, especially during the pandemic. Hopefully, Omknee 2 can answer the need for relaxation through reflexology in between busy activities,” added Timothy.

Omknee 2 officially is sold in the Indonesian market starting July 23, 2020, for IDR 12.5 Million. For the initial stage, the distribution of the latest products will be focused on Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan.
