IO – Withdrawing from the film world for two decades, Novia Kolopaking, wife of the cultural icon Emha Ainun Najib, has returned to play in a film. She will star in the film Terima Kasih Emak, Terima Kasih Abah (Thank you Mother, Thank You Father)
The film facilitates a reunion of the old soap opera cast of the Keluarga Cemara (Cemara Family). Novia will return to play act with Adi Kurdi. In addition to starring the cast of the soap opera Family of Cemara, the film Terima Kasih Emak Terima Kasih Abah also stars Rezky Aditya, Dimas Aditya and Teuku Rifnu Wikana.
The film Terima Kasih Emak, Terima Kasih Abah has nothing to do with the film Keluarga Cemara. The difference is that this film is based on a novel of the same title, written by Rudi Gunawan. The premiere of the film is planned for April 16.
“It’s been 20 years of vacuum, the last time the Keluarga Cemara aired 20 years ago,” said Novia. “From before marriage to having two children and spending every day with them.”
Terima Kasih Emak Terima Kasih Abah directed by Dedi Setiadi. “I returned to play because of fulfilling the promise to Om Dedi: I once promised to play again if I was invited,” she explained.
Actually, there were many offers to play while she retired, but Novia’s heart was not moved. “There was an offer but I have not been moved. I concentrate more on home because there are children”.
“Cak Nun (Emha) also encouraged me to accept the offer but I said ‘later’.”
“If I have to go back to playing, I have to receive at least the same happiness as meeting children at home,” she said, as quoted by Antara.
When it comes to singing, Novia did not stop completely. “I still sing with the community accompanying Cak Nun. Through singing I accompany Cak Nun to 26 countries,” she said. (rp)
