Jakarta, IO – Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas promised to impose strict sanctions on haj travel agency for failing to send 46 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on Furoda visa. The statement was made by Yaqut after he performed the obligatory umrah (minor haj) at the Great Mosque of Mecca on Monday (4/7).
“Yesterday we heard that 46 would-be pilgrims were deported. If travel agency does not organize according to regulations, we will give strict sanctions,” said Yaqut, as reported by Suara.
Yaqut said that the travel agency had played with people’s fate. According to him, this is not a good thing because it involves people’s religious obligation.
“You can’t play with people’s fate, playing with people’s worship obligation is a big sin, we will give them the right sanctions,” he said in a stern voice.
