Misool Island; tourist paradise sea in eastern Indonesia

IO, Jakarta – Some of the recent times, the eastern Indonesian region became a much sought after tourist destination and became a hallmark for local and foreign tourists. The more to the east, the more attractive, even more blue skies and beautiful that is often expressed by the tourists who have been to Eastern Indonesia. However, in line with this travel phenomenon, some destinations are sort of forgotten. Through places that seemed to have forgotten the beauty and charm. One is Misool, a picturesque island located in Raja Ampat, West Papua. Coral islands of various shapes and sizes scattered islands. They stood firm towering above the blue-green waters.

Much of the island is uninhabited, because the contours do not allow for local communities to inhabit. But in some island homes there are modest inns or commonly called homestay. Raja Ampat consists of four islands, namely Waigeo, Salawati, Batanta, and Misool. But not all islands have been frequented by tourists. Misool is rarely visited because the way there and choices are very limited. By ferry, Misool can be reached via Sorong. And even then only they provide three trips a week. In contrast to the northern part of Raja Ampat that can be addressed directly every day with a choice of air and sea lanes. Limited travel time does not mean we can not visit Misool.

Misool is like a paradise with beautiful beaches and marine parks which are amazing. Misool Island is one of the largest islands in Raja Ampat Islands, West Papua province. Misool is directly adjacent to the Seram Sea and waters off the traffic lanes of large animals including whales.

Underwater beauty Misool can already be seen long before you plunge into the clear turquoise sea water very soothing eye. Breathtaking panorama from a remote island almost untouched expanse of the high seas include extensive and very clear, white sand stretching along the coast and surrounded by tropical forests and mangrove trees are green scenic. This refreshing scenery obviously will captivate anyone who see what is hidden beneath the waters of the sea.

According to data from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the Raja Ampat islands including the world’s coral triangle area where the park is underwater saves about 75% of ornamental fish and coral triangle in the world. There are a number of very impressive diving spots for exploring the underwater paradise of the richest in the world. Various types of fish, coral reefs, sharks, turtles, rays and other marine creatures inhabit the underwater paradise Misool Island. Therefore, snorkeling, diving, swimming, sunbathing or just relaxing on the shores of deserted beaches will give the impression of an exclusive and become a full vacation experience.

Besides the beauty of the sea that is has to offer, Misool Island also has a diversity of cultures and customs which are no less interesting than the surrounding communities of Raja Ampat Islands. One impressive one is a relic of history in the form of paintings on the walls of caves that can be found in this region.

On the island of Misool there are many marine tourism activities that you can do. Snorkeling and diving are the main course and not to be missed when setting foot in an area known internationally as the underwater paradise of the best and rare natural phenomenon. Clear sea water allows you to see a view of the underwater beauty even from the ship. Visibility while diving in the crystal clear water even reaches 25 meters.

There are a lot of diving points which keep the charm of the beauty and variety in Misool. It would take a lot of time to try out a myriad of point dives in this area therefore, most likely you will be busy exploring the ocean depths Misool Island pristine and very rich.

The best diving season on Misool Island can be said to be almost all year round. However, keep in mind that during the rainy season the diving activity may be slightly distorted. Visits at different times lets you get more experience anyway when discovering Misool Island.

Besides enjoying panoramic sea travel, there are also several villages around the island of Misool that are also worth visiting. Visits to small villages with a population that is still a bit, of course will give experience and knowledge of the local culture, customs, traditions, and more interesting things to observe. Exploring the mangroves and watch the birds and other animals is a selection of other activities to fill your vacation.

Other favorite places that you can visit is the presence of the human hand-shaped painting, fish, and another known as petroglyphs. Beautiful paintings red the dominant color of the estimated age of approximately 5,000 years. Location of the discovery is somewhat hidden in the maze that is formed from a number of lagoons and karst rock. This place is beautiful, no wonder this became a kind of a special place marked by the presence of Petroglyph itself.

At the islands, the main mode of transportation in this area is sea transport. Ships would be the vehicle you drive around and explore the beauty of Misool Island.
