Megawati also did not hesitate to express her thinly veiled criticism against certain cadres whom she viewed as opportunistic. “PDI-P is against [cadres] who ride both sides of the fence, who maneuver,” she continued.
Megawati instructed all cadres to patiently wait for her decision in determining who will be the party’s presidential or vice-presidential candidate in the 2024 election, including on coalition forming. She reminded all cadres that she has the sole prerogative on the matters.

According to her, it became absolute after all cadres unanimously elected her as the party’s chair.
