IO, Jakarta – PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri discusses the political scale in 2024. According to her, the political map for the next four years will be colored by Millennials. In 2024, Indonesia will again celebrate democracy by holding an election for President and Vice President. Interestingly, there will be no incumbent in this stage. “I will leave this message. Later on, there will be a great change in Indonesian politics. One, in 2024 there will be a regeneration. The ones who have to advance are those who are encouraged by young people. In 2024, I hope, the one who advances in the election will be the young generation. That’s enough. And don’t just search for position, “said Megawati, while giving speeches to prospective regional heads and deputy heads who were promoted by the PDIP in the 2020 elections, at the DPP PDIP office, Jakarta, Wednesday (02/19/2020).

She further said that, although it would be dominated by young people, the fifth President of RI (Megawati) asked everyone to avoid forcing their children to advance in the 2024 Presidential election. “But stop, if you have children, and the child is not up to it. Don’t force it. It’s like there are no other potential candidates. Those cadres are also your children, what do we do? If it’s not your children, if it’s not your wife, if it’s not your niece,” said Megawati.

She also realized that someone will associate her with Puan Maharani, her own daughter. However, according to Mega, this can be proven by Puan’s own ability. “Someone will say later, you know, Megawati did it too. But I have proven it. I never force Puan. I’m just advising her, my child, you should be in accordance with what you are running. There are people who say I’m involved in Puan becoming the head of the Parliament. It’s not true. The votes (in the Pileg) speak for themselves. Nobody can hold it,” Megawati said.

Not only that, Megawati also quipped about those who said that PDIP was only a party run by a collection of families. “What to do, you should look at the cadre’s ability. If you really work very well, then I’ll make you a secretary. So that’s it. In doing so, the party will develop, and not become merely a family group,” Megawati said. (dan)
