IO – MAS Holdings, the biggest ready-to-wear garment technology company in South Asia, has officially changed the name of its manufacturing subsidiary in Indonesia into “MAS Arya” as part of its initiative to place the center of its operations in our Homeland.

Previously known MAS Sumbiri, the Company, with two manufacturing facilities in Central Java, was established in 2013, as a joint venture between MAS Holdings and PT Sumber Bintang Rejeki. Initially, it only had 500 employees and produced just a single product category. Now, it is one of the biggest finished garment exporters in Indonesia with the ability to manufacture multiple products, six brands, and the position of primary supplier for renowned global fashion retailers.

MAS Arya won the Tough Exporter of Central Java award from the Central Java Provincial Industry and Trade Office for three consecutive years. Having started its business by focusing on the production of women’s underwear (i.e. bras), MAS Arya now has a much more varied, high-value, high-tech product portfolio that includes FemTech products (i.e. cloth products meant to maintain women’s health and hygiene), medical clothing, sports and athletics outfits, men’s boxer-type underpants, and women’s underpants.

The corporate name change officially announced in early February 2022 paves the path for MAS for further solidification in Indonesia. It expects to double its influence in our country within the next 4 years by acquiring new consumers and strategic business units in our country, and by expanding its external manufacturing partner network. The Company has also implemented a series of joint initiatives for the sake of improving its operations, including by expanding the use of automatizing and digitizing processes.

MAS Arya CEO Ziyan Zahir believes that Indonesia has a great potential to become the clothing center of Southeast Asia, especially in view of its huge, inexpensive human resource body and its historically good trade relations with other Asiatic countries. “This is very much in line with MAS Arya’s own vision, i.e. of becoming a better known producer of fashion and iconic clothing in the region. Therefore, our rebranding has further implications outside of the Company itself – it is a good sign for the growth and expansion of the ready-to-wear clothing sector in Indonesia,” he said.
