The following diets are energy needs (in macro-nutrients) for marathon runners: 

65-70 percent of energy comes from carbohydrate consumption 

10-15 percent of energy comes from protein consumption. 

15-20 percent of energy comes from fat consumption. 

According to Ni Komang Ayu Tria Utami A.Md.Gz, Nutritionist, Kasih Ibu Hospital, nutritional intake depends on gender, weight, height, and physical health conditions. “When preparing to participate in a marathon, I recommend consulting a nutritionist to design a comprehensive nutritional intake plan, one based on the physical analysis of each runner. Remember: an enriched nutritional diet and regular eating schedule are very important in marathon runners,” she said.
