Spirits to campaign a circular economy concept have spread to Indonesian state-owned enterprises.

Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), Indonesia’s holding company for state-controlled mining companies, has announced it is also implementing a circular economy concept to achieve net zero emission.

“MIND ID is committed to put forward smart mining into its operations,” said Hendi Prio Santoso, as reported by ANTARA on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Hendi said the company, which is the holding company for PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero), dan PT Timah Tbk, is working to achieve its NZE targets by implementing a circular economy.

“This approach will push the company to optimize resources, reduce the risks and minimize the impacts to environment and social aspects over our activities. We also seek to explore how to increase added value from our production chains,” Hendi said.
