Makaffah holds make-up competition to celebrate 9th anniversary

Jakarta, IO – Makaffah Salon and Bridal is a professional women’s salon and wedding organizer, founded in June 2015. It aims to meet women’s needs for hairdressing and make-up and become a reference for beauty and fashion. To celebrate its 9th anniversary and its works in the wedding industry in West Java, especially Cimahi and Bandung, Makaffah Salon and Bridal held a make-up competition.

With the purpose of introducing the beauty of modern wedding make-up, as well as promoting and facilitating local make-up talent in the region, this year’s competition was themed “Modern Wedding Make Up”. The eagerly-anticipated event was held on Saturday, June 29, at Yogya Grand Kepatihan, 18 Kepatihan St., Balonggede, Bandung, West Java. It was participated in by talented make-up artists from across West Java, especially Cimahi and Greater Bandung.

This competition was adjudicated by a team of competent and experienced jury members, namely, Yeti Kurniawati, S.Sos, MT of Adyatama Tourism and Creative Economy Young Expert; Amira Sasanti SH, Chair of the Traditional Creativity Development Work Team at the National Agency for Professional Certification Assessor Team (BNSP) Katalia, who is also a bridal makeup instructor; and Rina Rahayu, a make-up artist from the Belva MUA Management Team.

The three judges will provide assessments based on: suitability to the theme, techniques and skills, creativity and innovation, aesthetics and harmony, cleanliness and tidiness, overall appearance, and professional attitude. Based on these criteria, the judges will jointly provide an assessment where the participant with the highest score will be the winner.

Further, the winner, runner-up and second runner-up will receive a certificate signed by the head of the Bandung City Culture & Tourism Service, Drs. Arief Syaifudin, SH, M.Par. Meanwhile, other participants will receive a certificate/charter signed by the organizer.

“The Bandung City Culture and Tourism Department, especially the Creative Economy sector, is proud to support the make-up competition, with the theme of “Modern Wedding Make-up”, organized by Makaffah Salon and Bridal,” Arief said. Certification is one way to recognize competence and ensure standards of professionalism in bridal and makeup practices.

“Certification not only increases public trust in the services they offer, but also opens up opportunities for them to be involved in large and international projects,” said Amira.

“In addition, certification can also help build the reputation of the industry as a whole. With clear and nationally-recognized standards, we can advance the beauty industry in a more professional and structured direction. This certainly has a positive impact on the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia, by making a significant contribution to creating jobs and improving the welfare of beauty business actors. I hope that this competition can be a momentum for the participants to continue learning and developing, as well as taking advantage of the creative economy potential that exists in the beauty sector.” (des)
