According to Mahathir, Malaysia should be grateful that the world court awarded them the islands of Ligitan and Sipadan, which used to be part of Indonesia’s Kalimantan. According to him, these islands are much more valuable than Batu Puteh.
He also added, Malaysia should also be grateful that Indonesia has not disputed the award. “Really, we are not grateful for our gains,” added Mahathir.
