Jakarta, IO – East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said she was proud that one of the regions under her administration can contribute to a world-class soccer tournament. The official ball to be used at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is produced by a company in East Java.
“Hopefully in the next World Cup we will not only produce the ball, but the Indonesian national team can also compete. Aamiin Ya Rabbal Alamin,” said Khofifah, as quoted from the official website of East Java Provincial Administration, Monday (20/6).
Khofifah on Friday (17/6) inaugurated the export of 50,000 soccer balls to five countries, namely the United Arab Emirates, Germany, England, the United States and Brazil.
The official ball for 2022 World Cup, called “Al Rihla,” is produced by PT Global Way Indonesia (GWI) based in Pilangkenceng district, Madiun regency. The company is an original equipment manufacturer for Adidas. “We are all happy and proud that from Madiun we are able to produced World Cup-quality balls for export,” said Khofifah.
