In the exhibition that will last until May 15, there are four artists and two art collectives involved, namely Arifa Safura & DJ Rencong from Banda Aceh, Mira Rizki from Bandung, Muhlis Lugis from Makassar, Udeido Collective from Jayapura, and regional technical implementing unit (UPTD) of Majalengka. This exhibition is like a dialogue from various perspectives and practices of social life, where visitors can get to know artists and local cultural issues that have an impact on Indonesian people more broadly.

There are also four paintings inspired by mythology originating from South Sulawesi. Muhlis Lugis, an artist who hails from Makassar, explores the depiction of Sangiang Serri (Goddess of Rice) as a goddess who descends from the sky and turns into rice for the sake of bringing prosperity to human on earth.

In addition to these works, there is one more installation that has become the visitor’s favourite — Yayoi Kusama’s ‘Infinity Mirrored Room’ which depicts infinite reality, a key concept in most of her works. This installation involves mirrors in a dark room and round LED lights of various sizes that are hung irregularly. The LED lights flash and change color every few seconds. The reflection of self-image that feels infinite becomes the main attraction for visitors to take selfies pictures. (Ummamah Nisa)
