They can be easily found in many restaurants, malls, tourist areas across the country, particularly in large cities. However, LOBO Italian Bistro, at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan, serves a different kind of Italian menu, with authentic Italian taste.
Typical Menu. LOBO Italian Bistro serves Italian specialties with superior menus such as Pilla di Tono, Petto di Manzo, Ravioli a la Toscana and others. Other menus that are also a favorite of visitors include Asparagi Grigiliati, Bruschetta Pomodoro Etorro, Burrata Verdure, Carnivoro, Carpacio di Manzo, Rissoto Ai Fungi and others.
In 2009, LOBO Italian Bistro was set up under the name LOBO Italian Steakhouse & Terrace. Initially, it adopted the concept of fine dining restaurant. However, ten years later, in 2019, it rebranded itself into LOBO Italian Bistro.
But after changing its name and going with the trend, LOBO decided to adopt a newer concept of fun dining. It hopes to be more accessible to people from all walks of life and age groups, to be an exciting hangout venue with friends and family.
“By changing our name, we aim to appeal to the wider community by combining the concept of Bistro and hangout place in Jakarta,” said Adeza Hamzah, Cluster Director of Marketing of The Ritz-Carlton Mega Kuningan and JW Marriot Jakarta.
The name LOBO comes from an Italian word, meaning ‘beast’, which is seen as a symbol of courage. This is in line with the bistro’s culinary team’s philosophy, that is to innovate traditional Italian menus into something that is uniquely different from the competition.
LOBO Italian Bistro offers a superb menu of a distinctive Italian traditional cuisine with a modern touch such as Pilla di Tono, Petto di Manzo, Ravioli a la Toscana and many more. Guests’ favorites include Asparagi Grigiliati, Bruschetta Pomodoro Etorro, Burrata Verdure, Carnivoro, Carpacio di Manzo and Rissoto Ai Fungi, among others.
The authenticity of its Italian taste come from its use of high quality, imported ingredients which make the cuisine very special. Special menus are prepared under the supervision of Executive Chef Rudolf Blatter, who has honed his skills in cooking European dishes, Italian being one.
Other than its exquisite menu, LOBO Italian Bistro also has one an edge—it has a terrace. Outside, guests can relax while enjoying the open-air atmosphere of the stunning Mega Kuningan district, with a beautiful view of high-rise buildings.
LOBO also has three private dining rooms (PDR), namely PDR 1, PDR 2 and Cellar Room which can fit four, six and six people respectively.
Prior to COVID-19, the number of guests can reach 50-80 people per day. In the new normal period, LOBO Italian Bistro provides a maximum seating capacity of 80. The opening hours of LOBO Italian Bistro are from 12.00 to 23.30.
During the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB), LOBO did not do any promotions, but in the future it is planning to offer various attractive promotions especially for Italian cuisine lovers. “Going forward, we will provide delivery services and abide by the health protocols as per Marriott International standards and also local government regulations,” Adeza said.
