Jakarta, IO – Workers and students from various elements gathered at the parliament building in Senayan, Wednesday (10/8), to demand the permanent repeal of the Job Creation Law passed in 2020.
They arrived en masse at around 10 am using buses, motorcycles and private cars. Many others marched from Semanggi district and TVRI station.
They were joined by, among others, the Jakarta Veteran University Student Association, the All-Indonesian Labor Organization Association (GOBSI), the Congress of Indonesian Unions Alliance (KSBI), the Independent Prosperous Workers Union (SBSI) and other elements.

The demonstration was largely peaceful. Activists took turns delivering their speeches atop the command car. Meanwhile, police officers were standing guard around the parliament compound. High barriers about 1 to 2-meter tall could be seen erected at several locations to cordon off the area. (rr)
