Jakarta, IO – General Elections Commission (KPU) commissioner Viryan Azis stressed that the elections will be held according to the schedule and the constitution mandate, namely in 2024.
“The point is, we want the 2024 elections to be held according to the constitution mandate. This is a tradition that has been painstakingly built through reforms, regular periodic democratic elections. This is one of the nation’s well-established assets. We must not undermine the foundation of this structure,” said Viryan on Tuesday (5/4).
He went on to say that currently KPU is preparing all the logistics for the 2024 election. The process will involve appointing new KPU members for the term 2022-27.
“I congratulate my colleagues who will continue the job. Continue the good things and improve what is still lacking through innovative measures,” said Azis. (rr)
