Jakarta, IO – The arrest of University of Lampung (Unila) rector Karomani by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for the alleged bribery in new student admission is bad news for the Indonesian education scene.

Because of this incident, KPK deputy chief Nurul Ghufron said the anti-graft body is currently keeping an eye on other universities which are considered not transparent in their “independent pathway” admission process.

“According to reports that come in, it happened not only in Unila, there are several other universities,” said Ghufron, as reported by Sindonews, Thursday (25/8).
