Jakarta, IO – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested several people at the Supreme Court (MA).

KPK deputy chair Nurul Ghufron said the arrest was related to allegations of bribery and illegal levies in the management of cases at MA.

“I can confirm that the KPK today has arrested several people, related to allegations of corruption, bribery and illegal levies in the management of cases at the Supreme Court,” said Ghufron, as reported by Kompas, Thursday (22/9).

He explained that the arrests were made in two locations, Jakarta and Semarang. During the operation, the anti-graft body arrested a number of people and confiscated some money. The KPK is expanding its investigation to see who else are involved.

Ghufron asked the public to be patient because the investigation team are still questioning related parties to learn more about the roles of each perpetrator.
