KPK nabs 4 officials from the Railways Directorate General

Jakarta, IO – Four officials from the Transport Ministry’s Railways Directorate General (DJKA) Central Java office were arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a sting operation in Semarang, Tuesday (11/4).

This news was confirmed by KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri. He said that some cash was confiscated in the raid. “The KPK team also seized a sum of money as evidence in Rupiah and foreign currency,” said Ali, reported Katadata, Wednesday (12/4).

“Several individuals have been arrested, including Central Java DJKA officials, commitment maker official for railway projects, and private citizens,” he said.

The four people arrested were brought to KPK headquarters this morning at 6 am WIB, to undergo further questioning. “KPK will immediately determine their status 1×24 hours,” said Ali.

Transport Ministry spokesperson Adita Irawati said the ministry supports all efforts to eradicate corruption carried out by the KPK and will cooperate with the authorities in regard to the arrests,” Adita said. (un)
