Jakarta, IO – The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) urged judges presiding over the trial of ex-police internal affairs chief Insp. Gen. Ferdy Sambo to impose maximum penalty for the mastermind behind the murder of Brigadier J.

Komnas HAM chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik submitted the final investigation report to Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD on Monday (12/9), CNN Indonesia reported.

Taufan hopes that the court can uphold the principle of fair trial in hearing the case and “give maximum punishment commensurate with the crime he has committed.”

Furthermore, Taufan revealed that the report contains two major findings.

“First, Ferdy Sambo has committed extra judicial killing. Second, there has been systematic obstruction of justice, which is now being handled by the special investigation team and the National Police Headquarters,” said Taufan.
