Jakarta, IO – Social Affairs Ministry (Kemensos) will soon summon the management of philanthropic outfit Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). Secretary General Harry Hikmat said the ministry will first listen to ACT’s explanation regarding alleged misappropriation of public funds.
“We will confirm whether ACT has violated the provisions, including to trace whether there are indications of embezzlement by the management,” said Harry, as reported by Kompas, Tuesday (5/7).
Harry stressed that Kemensos can freeze ACT’s permit if irregularities are found in the distribution of money and goods donations, according to Social Affairs Minister Regulation 8/2021.
Furthermore, Harry said, Kemensos can postpone, revoke, and or cancel the permit altogether if it causes public disturbance, or if irregularities and violations are found in its implementation.
