Kemdikbudristek: All public universities have formed PPKS Task Force


Jakarta, IO – The Education, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry (Kemendikbudristek) stated that all state universities (PTN) in Indonesia have had their own Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) task force, which consists of educators, staff and students.

The ministry’s Center for Character Development (Puspeka) Rusprita Putri Utami said a total of 125 PTNs and 20 private higher education institutions (PTS) have complied with Directive 30/2021, reported Detik, Friday (3/2).

Rusprita hopes the task forces can strengthen the prevention and handling of sexual violence in tertiary institutions which have seen cases increasing in recent years.

Based on data from the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan), out of a total of 67 cases of sexual violence in educational settings from 2015 to 2021, 35 of them occurred in tertiary institutions. (un)
