KAI takes tough measure to tackle sexual harassment on trains

Jakarta, IO – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) issued strict rule to blacklist passengers who commit sexual harassment on trains in response to the incident that happened aboard the Argo Lawu Train which went viral on social media recently.

“This policy is implemented by KAI to deter and prevent perpetrators from doing the same thing in the future. It also applies to perpetrator of sexual harassment whose action went viral before,” said PT KAI EVP corporate secretary Asdo Artriviyanto in an official statement, Tuesday (21/6).

According to Asdo, KAI has contacted the victim to apologize for the inconvenience and is ready to provide legal support. However, the victim did not wish to take the matter to court and only demand the alleged perpetrator to apologize and promise not reoffend.
