
Director of the Center for American Regional Studies at the University of Indonesia, Suzie Sudarman, has a different take. She said Jokowi’s absence in UNGA is not a problem because there is no critical urgency such as the issue of state sovereignty.
Since taking office, Jokowi has not attended face-to-face meetings at the High-Level Week (HLW) to take place from September 20-26 for the eight time. Instead, Indonesia is represented by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.
