Jakarta, IO – Politico-economic observer who is also Paramadina University rector Prof. Didik J Rachbini said President Joko Widodo’s visit to Ukraine and Russia is in line with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution. According to him, Jokowi is practising Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy.

“Finally, the image that Jokowi is inward looking has started to fade after eight years. Now is the right time to practice the free and active foreign policy as mandated by the 1945 Constitution,” Didik told Observerid.com on Thursday (30/6).

He said that Jokowi’s initiative was one step ahead of other countries that seem reluctant. This despite the huge risk posed, especially since he travelled with the First Lady. He also hopes the peace mission will not stop in the future but continued by his ministers.

“Jokowi also needs to attend a speech at the UN forum to advocate world peace. His ministers need to prepare the stage if the momentum of this visit gets a good response from both parties,” Didik said.
