Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo swore in Saifullah “Gus Ipul” Yusuf as the new social affairs minister and Eddy Hartono as the head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) at the State Palace, Wednesday (11/9).
Gus Ipul replaces Tri Rismaharini who resigned because she is contesting East Java gubernatorial election. Meanwhile, Eddy Hartono, formerly BNPT deputy head, succeeded Boy Rafli Amar who went into retirement, as per Setkab.go.id.
Gus Ipul is a prominent Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure who serves as the secretary general of the nation’s largest Islamic organization.
