JNE mulls sending legal notice to alleged slanderer

Jakarta, IO – Logistics company PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir (JNE), through its lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea stated they are considering to send legal notice (somasi) to an individual, identified by the initial R, whom they said had made slanderous accusation that the company hoarded the presidential rice packages found buried in Depok.

“We are considering to make police report or take legal action against the person who started this slanderous accusation,” Hotman Paris Hutapea said at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday (4/8).

He reaffirmed that JNE never hoarded the rice, but disposed of it by burying it because it had started to go bad.

“JNE only asked for permission to bury the rice there, regarding who owns it we had been allowed by the guard,” he added.

Hotman also emphasized that JNE has no intention to violate the. Indeed, Hotman said, the company did a responsible thing because they didn’t want the damaged rice packets to be misused if they were thrown away carelessly.

“JNE absolutely has no intention to commit corruption by hoarding the rice packages,” asserted Hotman. (un)
