Jakarta, IO – Jakarta’s freestyle roller skate athletes undergo a training session at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park on Sunday (25/8) ahead of the 21st National Games (PON) jointly hosted by Aceh and North Sumatra.

Jakarta will send five athletes, namely Muhammad Farel Irawan (17), Syahdan Nur Hamdilah (17), Bintang Astha Gina (15), Bianca Adelyn Salim (9), and Zoe Alexander Sherif (16).

For more than a year, various preparations ranging from technical and non-technical training, as well as mental toughness have been routinely carried out so they can perform and win medals at the biggest sporting event in Indonesia. Jakarta is targeting 14 gold medals in this sport.

They will compete in six events, namely men and women classic slalom, men and women speed slalom, and men and women slide. The coach, Jonathan, said that five athletes will compete to win medals in these events.

For the reference, PON 2024 will take place from September 8-20. As many as 33 sports spanning 42 disciplines and 510 events will be held in Aceh, 46 sports spanning 46 disciplines and 528 events in North Sumatra. (IO/Septo Kun Wijaya)
