Jakarta, IO – Jakarta Provincial Government is holding the 2024 Arts and Culture Festival for People with Disabilities from August 7-8 in two locations, namely the Jakarta Arts Building and Taman Ismail Marzuki.
Jakarta interim governor Heru Budi Hartono in his opening address expressed his gratitude to the head of the Jakarta Culture Service for the initiative to facilitates people with disabilities to be creative in art and culture, as per Wartakota, Thu (7/8).
Themed “Special in Limitations, Passionate in Creating Art”, the event was held in a cultural and historic heritage building built in 1821. According to Heru, the historic building has just been renovated by the Jakarta Culture Agency this year.
After the renovation is complete, the building will be used again for various activities, especially arts and culture festivals.
He also hopes that this event can educate the public that historical buildings are always maintained by the local government.

Head of the Jakarta Culture Agency, Iwan Henry Wardhana, said that this agenda would be enlivened with a number of activities. As many as 154 individuals with disability participated in the event. They performed traditional dance and organized painting exhibition.
“The jury for this festival consisted of academics and practitioners who have abilities and expertise in their respective fields,” said Iwan. (un)
