Jakarta, IO – PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) will soon conduct a phased trial run on the Jakarta Bandung High Speed Rail (KCJB).

KCIC corporate secretary Rahadian Ratry explained that test would include assessment of the infrastructure and system integration, including dynamic testing along the line. These will include electric multiple unit (EMU) or comprehensive inspection train (CIT).

“The initial stage of the induction test will begin with the test on the integration of infrastructure systems, fixed assets such as signaling, telecommunications, catenaries, OCC (Operation Control Center), depots and stations,” Rahadian said, reported Tempo.co, Monday (15/5).

Prior to this, Rahadian said the company has conducted an initial test involving railway consultants in April 2023 to ensure that all facilities and subsystems were running according to the specified standards and specifications.

The dynamic test will involve running the Locomotive Diesel (DMU) for several days at speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour.

“Furthermore, EMU will run at a limited speed until it reaches the technically permitted speed of 385 kilometers per hour,” he said.

During the trial run, residents living around the track are advised not to approach and do activities nearby due to risk of electrocution. (un)
