IO – Celebrating 70 years of bilateral relations between Italy and Indonesia, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Jakarta proudly present a classical concert by Duo Carrozzo-Fasiello, entitled “The Afternoon of a Faun” on Wednesday, 25 September 2019 at Usmar Ismail Hall. The day after the concert, these two young talented musicians intend to conduct a masterclass with Indonesian musicians.

The Afternoon of a Faun (Pomeriggio d’un fauno) is a project created by the Duo Carrozzo – Fasielo, a chamber music group founded in 2018 by the pianist Valeria Fasiello and the saxophonist Andrea Carrozzo.

Motivated by the desire to enhance and promote the chamber music repertoire for saxophone and piano, they propose a completely original program characterized by high virtuosity and dedicated to early XIX century French music and its influences on contemporary Italian composers. The propose program moves among the two main artistic currents present in France in the first decade of the XX century – represented by Debussy (Impressionism) and Milhaud (The Group of Six) – and contemporary Italian music composed by Ciminiello and Conti. The engaging interpretation of the two artists will embrace the audience in a fascinating and dreamy atmosphere.
