The second discussion discussed creating new traditionalbased musical works, with Rino Dezapaty, a traditional musician, Hery Budiawan, a musicologist from Jakarta State University, and Boo Boo Sianturi as spokespersons. Appealing performances by six traditional musicians from the country and abroad: Rapai Pase of Aceh, Timur Jauh of Ternate, Riau Rhythm of Riau, Kadapat of Bali, Sinar Baru of Tangerang, and Leon Gilberto Medellin of Mexico, Cristina Duque of Ecuador, and Victor Hugo of Mexico, will host a Latin American music and dance masterclass session.

The festival was a positive exposure of Indonesian traditional music to the international community. “This is a rare opportunity for us to listen to other traditional music from different regions. The people of Jakarta and the festival visitors will be able to recognize and learn the musical language of each region,” said Cholil Mahmud.
