Jakarta, IO – Indonesia’s vast archipelago offers many wonderful tourist destinations, from scenic beaches, mountains, waterfalls to unique customs and traditions.

Bali is definitely the poster boy, but Indonesia has no shortage of other world-class destinations. According to IDN Times, Saturday (10/9), here are some of the must-visit destinations in Indonesia.

Borobudur Temple. Renowned for its rows upon rows of bell-shaped stupas, Buddha statues and reliefs, the 1,200-year-old temple should be on your itinerary when you visit Yogyakarta or Central Java.

Kawah Ijen, East Java. The caldera, measuring 22 by 25 kilometres, was formed after major volcano eruptions some 3,500 years ago. It is known for its “blue flame,” one of only two in the world. Another iconic destination in East Java is Mount Bromo, which is often dubbed as “the land above the clouds.”

Lawang Seru. Formerly a railway office during the Dutch colonial era, the art deco-style building is dubbed “thousand doors building” by the locals and is said to be haunted.
