Indonesia’s Jersey at the Paris Olympics, designed by Didit Hediprasetyo, officially launched

Jakarta, IO – The design of the Indonesian contingent’s jersey at the 2024 Paris Olympics was officially released by the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Thursday (4/7). It was designed by Didit Hediprasetyo, President-elect Prabowo Subianto’s only child.

In designing the jersey, Didit admitted that he was inspired by the song ‘Berkibarlah Benderaku’ created by Ibu Sud. This idea was then expressed in several jersey, jacket and polo shirt designs that will be worn by the Indonesian athletes and officials at the Paris Olympics, per Okezone, Fri (5/7).

Didit explained that he accepted the offer from KOI to design the jersey because he wanted to contribute to the nation. Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo, who attended the launch event, praised Didit’s work.

“I am amazed by the designs. In my opinion, making a jersey is very complicated due to the sanctity of the red-and-white [the Indonesian national flag]. It turns out the inspiration comes from an unfurled flag,” said Dito. (un)
