Indonesian racer makes history in the Moto3 World Championship

Jakarta, IO – Mario Aji, 19, who hails from Madiun finished 12th from initially 23rd position in the 2023 Moto3 World Championship held in Austin Circuit, US, on Sunday (16/4), reported Detik Sport.

Mario competed under the banner of Honda Team Asia which was held at the Austin Circuit. To date, he has earned four points and is in the 22nd place in the 2023 Moto3 results.

“Mario Aji (Honda Team Asia Honda NSF250RW) has had an extraordinary journey, advancing from 25th place. The 19-year-old Indonesian racer made great progress to finish 12th, his best GP result. Such a performance was a huge morale boost for him who is in the early stages of his second World Championship season,” wrote Honda Team Asia.

This was his second participation in the race. His achievement this time allowed him to beat his own record when he finished 13th in the Italian Moto3 at the Mugello Circuit last season.

After the race, Mario admitted that he was very motivated and grateful for the results. Nevertheless, he will continue to try his best to earn points to continue competing in the next races.

“This result gives me great motivation. I’m happy but never quite satisfied. There are still 18 options to earn points. I want to thank everyone who has supported me, especially the team and my family,” he said. (bp)
