“Based on the information we have, Siti Kurmeisa is from Cianjur, West Java, and has been working in Damam, Saudi Arabia, since November 24, 2022,” he added.

The staff at the Indonesian Embassy stated that as of Saturday (28/1) Siti has been given protection at the Indonesian Embassy.

Apart from repatriating Siti, Kemnaker has also requested the Indonesian Embassy in Riyadh to investigate the placement process in order to find out what went wrong and the parties responsible.

Suhartono advised those who wish to work overseas to follow existing procedures and reject offer to be employed through illegal means, especially to Saudi Arabia.

“The public are advised to seek valid information about the appropriate procedure for working overseas by visiting the local manpower office or the nearest one-stop integrated service for Indonesian migrant workers (LTSA-PMI),” said Suhartono. (un)
