Jakarta, IO – A resident of Tangerang was murdered in Philadelphia, US, conveyed the Foreign Ministry (Kemlu) citizen protection director Judha Nugraha. The perpetrator was an Indonesian citizen who lived in the same house.
“The victim was identified as RA, why the perpetrator LFP,” said Judha, Friday (9/8). The incident occurred on August 4. The victim was reportedly stabbed with a kitchen knife in the neck and leg.
The Indonesian Consulate General in New York has coordinated with the Philadelphia police to conduct an autopsy and assist in the legal process.
“The Indonesian Consulate General has also communicated with the victim’s family. Kemlu will continue to monitor the development of this case and provide consular assistance,” he said.

Judha explained that the perpetrator is undergoing hospital treatment because he sustained leg injuries.
“The consulate general will also facilitate the repatriation of the body,” he added.
It was learned that RA and LFP left for the US in August last year. They entered on tourist visas, then worked in the country. LFP worked as a factory worker, while RA a nanny. (rr)
